In the 1960s and ’70s, the Result Chair (1958) by the Ahrend Group was a mainstay in schools throughout the Netherlands. Today, it’s prized for its sleek, flexible, and lightweight design with a waterfall seat edge for lasting comfort. Relaunched by HAY with Ahrend, the Result Chair is notable for its sparing use of materials and expertly crafted to the designers’ original specifications.

Friso Kramer

After graduating in Interior Design from the Institute of Applied Arts
in Amsterdam, Friso Kramer worked as a designer from 1948–1963 at De Cirkel, a
manufacturer of steel furniture. As his furniture – most notably the Revolt Chair
he co-designed with Wim Rietveld – gained in popularity across homes and public
spaces, Kramer became one of the preeminent names in modern Dutch design.
